I absolutely love this bench. I was looking for some wood for another job and stumbled across this beauty piece. As soon as I saw it I wanted to make a bench out of it. It is so fun how you can take something broken and not nice and turn it into something beautiful. This bench is made out of a solid piece of wood that was broken on the one side when I found it. The broken side was given a good sand until all the pointy ends were no longer sharp. The one leg of the bench is made from old steel from a horses stable in a barn. The steel was cut to size and bent to shape, it was then given a couple coats of flat black paint. The whole bench got a couple good coats of varnish. The fun thing about this bench is that both sides of the bench are so different and yet the same. One side has smooth clean lines and the other has a rough rustic feel. No matter how you look at it, or what your style, you can't help but appreciate this piece.
