Stunningly Handsome

Simply Stunning!

It's always so fun when you design a piece and then it turns out better then you thought it would once it's finished.  This coffee table was made from salvaged wood and the transformation was 'simply stunning'.

When I got these boards they were all bowed so they went off to the planner and the finish width came out to 1 inch.  It is a fairly large coffee table at 46 x 26 x 16 inches high.  We wanted it to have the look of one continual piece of wood wrapping the whole thing and that is just what we got.  The table was sanded and given a generous coat of a stain called 'jacobean' then given 2 coats of satin finish.  The shelf for this table was salvaged from an old local barn.  It needed to be cut to size and then the grinder was laid to it to ensure a snug fit.  After brushing the steel it was given a coat of flat black paint.

If a piece of furniture could be described as handsome, this table would be it.

Stunningly Handsome :)

P.S This table is for sale (but I can say, I will be sad to say goodbye)
