I guess its a good sign when you always like the things that you make :) The top of this shelf is a solid 1 inch thick with the outside dimensions 10 x 26 inches. I have made some shelves similar to this one but the thing that makes this one stand out from the others are the brackets. The brackets for this shelf were made from the branches of a sycamore tree. Sycamore branches have a sweet curl and twist to them that makes this piece so unique. This shelf was so beautiful by itself so I didn't tamper with it too much. To add to its rustic feel I took a torch to all the edges to give it a little singe, it added just the perfect touch. And playing with fire is always fun. I've never told a shelf that it was beautiful before but if I did I'm pretty sure it would be this one, smile.
